Fingerless Mittens Knitting Pattern: A quick make for a lovely gift

If you have a 50g ball or skein of yarn in your stash and would like to turn it into something practical, then look no further as my fingerless mittens knitting patterns is perfect for you.

You could knit them to gift, or knit them to keep. Even better, if you have two 50g balls of yarn, then you could knit up two pairs.

There is a pretty lace pattern on the front of the mittens, and they are knitted in the round for a seamless finish.

Every year I say I am going to make a conscious decision to start my gift knitting early, but each year I leave it later and later and end up making just one or two gifts.  Are you the same too?

So as soon as I start to relax over the holidays, I’m desperate to knit something new just for me!

And if you find yourself feeling exactly the same, then I have the perfect things for you.

Meet my ‘Nifty Fifty Mittens’, which you can make as long or short as you like, and they can be made from an odd 50g ball of double knitting (light worsted) yarn.

They’re a perfect stash buster that will only take a few hours, and they make a lovely gift. I made mine for a secret santa and my friend put them on straight away and said they’re the comfiest mittens she’s ever had and wasn’t going to take them off. I was delighted that she loved them so much.

The underside of the wrist section is a stretchy rib, so that one size will fit all. And what’s more, there is a handy chart for the simple lace pattern.

You can buy the pattern here on Ravelry: Nifty Fifty Mittens
