- Yes! Although the feather and lace stitch looks detailed, it’s easy to follow once you get into the rhythm.
Can I knit this baby blanket in a different size?
- Absolutely! Just cast on a multiple of 6 stitches, plus 3 extra, then knit to your desired length.
What type of yarn works best?
- A soft double knitting (light worsted weight) yarn is ideal, but you can also use aran (worsted weight) for a slightly thicker blanket.

Knitting Tips for Success
- Use stitch markers to help keep track of the lace pattern repeats, therefore helping you to follow the pattern.
- Block your finished blanket to bring out the lace design and therefore create a professional finish.
- Choose soft, baby-friendly yarns to ensure a gentle and cosy feel, especially against delicate skin.

Then, rep from * to * along cast-on edge.
Finally, rep from * to * along cast-off edge.
Weave all yarn ends into wrong side, then trim.

Adding the Pompoms
Pompoms add a cute finish to this blanket. To make them:
- Cut a 30cm length of yarn then lay to one side on a flat surface.
- Wrap yarn around 3 fingers, approximately 80 times.
- Remove wrapped yarn from fingers then place centrally on top of the 30cm strand of yarn.
- Carefully tie the strand of yarn around the middle of the wrapped yarn, then tie tightly in knot. Do not cut the strand of yarn as you will need this to attach the pom-pom to the blanket later.
- Cut the wrapped ends of yarn, shake the pom-pom then trim into a neat round ball.
- Make 4 pom-poms in total then attach each pom-pom to one corner of the blanket.
To Finish:
Spray blanket with cold water, paying particular attention to the border seams.
Pin out to 61x61cm (24x24in) then leave to dry completely.
